Your heart knows the way. Run in that direction.

Are you confused by which path in life you should take?

Do you find yourself at crossroads, like a deer in the headlights, unable to choose which of your options would be the best? In that moment of frozen confusion, how do you know how to make the right decision?

The answer is found in the heart. Deep within, we inherently just know what we are most desirous of doing.

Your heart sings out when you contemplate that option.

Then fear, responsibility, duty, insecurity and other foes take over, creating that panic moment.

The right choice is very seldom the easiest choice. Procrastination is easy. Deciding takes courage.

Deciding which of the myriad options you are best suited in pursuing, requires a prerequisite ability to forecast the many potential outcomes of such options, and from those collected scenarios, are you best able to choose your best course of action.

Following your heart can be very dangerous, for a host of reasons.

That said, it is exactly for those reasons that we feel the greatest joy in the accomplishment of such a feat of courage and determination.

When we weigh the prospects of living a life, unfulfilled, against the promises of a heart-driven desire come true, we are left with solely the subjective perspective that we feel at that core moment in life.  That perspective is ultimately what you have internally to navigate your next move.

You may opt to consult others, as is in many cases, a very wise choice. But even after all of your research, consultation, projections, expectations, fears and dreams, you are still at the crossroads.

I could not imagine not living a life in which I am continuously running in the direction that my heart dictates.

It is not always the easiest, nor most predictable road on which to travel, but when it pays off…. Nothing else in life compares.

Happy Sunday!

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
